About Secure Quantum
Secure Quantum is an Applied Quantum company specializing in safeguarding organizations against emerging quantum computing threats. We provide advanced quantum-safe security solutions – from post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and quantum key distribution (QKD) to crypto-agility strategies – to help our clients achieve resilience in the quantum era. Our team of experts in cybersecurity, cryptography, and quantum technology works at the forefront of the quantum security revolution, ensuring businesses, critical infrastructure, and governments stay secure as quantum technology evolves.
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and innovative Post-Quantum Cryptography Researcher to join our team. In this role, you will research and develop new cryptographic algorithms and protocols that are resistant to quantum attacks. You will evaluate emerging post-quantum algorithms, contribute to our cryptographic strategy, and work with engineering teams to implement and test quantum-safe solutions for clients. Your work will ensure that Secure Quantum stays at the cutting edge of cryptography, providing our clients with the highest level of security against future quantum threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Cryptographic Research: Investigate and analyze new and existing post-quantum cryptographic algorithms (e.g. lattice-based, hash-based, code-based), staying up-to-date with the latest developments and breakthroughs in the field.
- Algorithm Development: Design and prototype quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms and protocols that meet clients’ security and performance requirements for the post-quantum era.
- Security Analysis: Conduct and coordinate cryptanalysis of classical and post-quantum algorithms to assess their resilience against advanced attacks (including potential quantum computer capabilities).
- Implementation & Testing: Work closely with software engineers to implement selected PQC algorithms in applications and systems, performing rigorous testing to ensure they function securely and efficiently in real-world scenarios.
- Thought Leadership: Publish research findings, present at conferences, and participate in standards discussions (e.g. NIST PQC initiatives) to contribute to the broader community and maintain Secure Quantum’s reputation as a leader in quantum-safe cryptography.
Qualifications
- Education: PhD (preferred) or Master’s in Cryptography, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on cryptographic research.
- Cryptographic Expertise: In-depth knowledge of classical cryptography (RSA, ECC, AES, etc.) and post-quantum cryptographic algorithms (such as lattice-based, hash-based, and code-based schemes).
- Research Experience: Proven experience in cryptographic research or development (industry or academia), with a track record of analyzing or developing cryptographic algorithms. Publications or contributions to the cryptography community are a plus.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python, C/C++, Java) and experience implementing cryptographic algorithms or using cryptographic libraries.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of assessing complex security problems and devising innovative cryptographic solutions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex cryptographic concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to work on groundbreaking quantum security technology with a team of leading experts.
- A collaborative and innovative work environment that values cybersecurity excellence and continuous learning.
- Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
- Flexible working arrangements, including remote work options.
- Support for professional development and career growth (training, conferences, etc.), with exposure to cutting-edge advancements in quantum technology and security.
