Job Summary
Secure Quantum is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to expand our quantum security services in North America. In this role, you will drive sales and partnerships for our portfolio of quantum-safe cybersecurity solutions. You will identify and engage with prospective clients – from banks and telecommunications companies to critical infrastructure operators and government agencies – educating them on the quantum threat and positioning Secure Quantum’s services to address their needs. The ideal candidate has a strong background in tech or cybersecurity business development and is passionate about emerging technologies. You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and ultimately driving revenue growth for our quantum security consulting and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Strategy: Develop and execute a business development strategy to grow Secure Quantum’s client base and market presence in North America. Identify target market segments (financial services, telecom, healthcare, government, etc.) and create action plans for each.
- Prospecting & Lead Generation: Proactively identify and reach out to organizations that could benefit from quantum-safe security. Leverage industry networks, research, and events to build a robust pipeline of leads, focusing on enterprises and government bodies concerned about cybersecurity threats.
- Consultative Selling: Engage potential clients to understand their cybersecurity challenges and risk posture. Educate stakeholders (CISOs, CIOs, risk managers) on the urgency of quantum threats and how our solutions (PQC implementation, cryptographic inventory, QKD, etc.) can mitigate these risks. Tailor value propositions to each client’s context.
- Proposal & Deal Management: Lead the end-to-end sales process from initial contact through contract closing. Prepare compelling presentations, proposals, and responses to RFPs with input from technical teams. Negotiate terms and work closely with legal/procurement to finalize agreements that are win-wins for the client and Secure Quantum.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with client executives and decision-makers. Act as a trusted advisor, maintaining regular communication with key accounts to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for upsell or expansion of services.
- Partnerships & Alliances: Identify and develop strategic partnerships (e.g. with cybersecurity product vendors, system integrators, or industry associations) that can extend Secure Quantum’s reach and enhance our service offerings.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and developments in both cybersecurity and quantum technology. Provide feedback to Secure Quantum’s leadership and service teams about market needs, helping to refine our offerings and marketing messages.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management in the technology or cybersecurity sector. Demonstrated success in selling complex solutions or consulting services to enterprise and/or government clients.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and enterprise IT environments. A strong interest in emerging technologies (knowledge of quantum computing or cryptography is a plus, with a willingness to learn in-depth).
- Communication & Presentation: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to craft clear value propositions and present technical concepts in a compelling, business-focused manner. Confidence in presenting to C-suite executives and large audiences.
- Sales Skills: Proven ability to drive the sales process from prospecting to closing. Strong negotiation skills and a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Experience with consultative selling and adapting to long sales cycles typical of large organizations.
- Networking & Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to establish rapport and trust with clients and partners. Existing network in one or more key sectors (finance, telecom, government) is highly desirable.
- Self-Motivation: Entrepreneurial mindset with high energy and self-drive. Ability to work independently, manage your own pipeline, and collaborate with distributed teams.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g. in sales or cybersecurity) are a plus.
