About Skyloom
Skyloom, an IonQ company, is a telecommunications company founded with the mission to develop, deploy, and operate one of the fundamental pieces of tomorrow's space communication infrastructure to provide data transport services on a planetary scale. If you have a strong sense of purpose, focus, urgency, and willingness to compete, or if working on space lasers excites you, join our team to develop the future generation of space communication technology.
What Makes Skyloom Unique?
Skyloom is building the orbital infrastructure for the next renaissance in global connectivity. As Earth’s first space-based telecommunications company, we deliver fiberless, planetary-scale data transport that dramatically increases bandwidth, availability, and resiliency—while reducing latency and total cost of operations.
Our proprietary optical technology enables secure, ultra-high-capacity connections across our end-to-end, multi-orbit network or within your own infrastructure, unlocking a new standard for global communications.
The Role
Skyloom is seeking an Engineering & Operations Delivery Manager to drive execution discipline across engineering, production, and customer-facing teams during a post-acquisition growth phase. This role operates at the intersection of engineering delivery, production planning, and operational execution, ensuring complex initiatives are aligned, tracked, and delivered predictably.
The Delivery Manager provides clear project visibility, improves delivery reliability, and serves as a key connector between leadership, engineering, operations, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery tracking for engineering and operations initiatives across engineering, quality, supply chain, and production
- Translate strategic and product-level objectives into actionable execution plans, milestones, and delivery schedules
- Maintain a consolidated view of roadmaps, dependencies, risks, and delivery status across programs
- Ensure alignment between engineering execution, operational constraints, and customer commitments
- Establish and maintain project tracking frameworks appropriate to program needs (agile, hybrid, or milestone-based)
- Define and monitor delivery health metrics, including schedule adherence, scope changes, and risk indicators
- Proactively identify bottlenecks, resource constraints, and cross-functional dependencies
- Drive issue resolution by coordinating across engineering, operations, and leadership
- Serve as a central coordination point between Engineering, Operations, Commercial, and leadership teams
- Facilitate planning, prioritization, reviews, and retrospectives with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Provide clear, concise delivery status and risk visibility to executive leadership
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize tooling for project tracking, documentation, and reporting
- Establish repeatable delivery processes while maintaining flexibility for rapid iteration
- Support post-acquisition integration by aligning delivery practices with broader organizational expectations while preserving execution speed
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Skyloom must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable. Learn more about ITAR here.
Requirements

- Experience working with engineering-heavy teams, ideally in aerospace, satellite, IoT, or complex systems environments.
- Strong understanding of software and/or hardware development lifecycles.
- Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives with competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical detail into executive-level clarity.
- Ability to regularly travel to Broomfield, Colorado, and elsewhere as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in space, satellite communications, aerospace, or deep-tech environments.
- Experience supporting teams through acquisitions or rapid scale-up phases.
- Familiarity with agile, scrum, Kanban, and hybrid delivery models.
- Comfort working directly with C-level leadership.
