Job Description
As a Verification & Validation Engineer, you work within R&D on the verification and validation of control solutions for a wide range of high-tech systems. You use simulations, models and physical testing to determine whether new designs and functionality meet their technical and performance requirements.
The projects vary from new concepts and prototypes to complete mechatronic systems. This gives you the opportunity to work on different technologies and technical challenges, while collaborating closely with control, software, mechatronics and system engineering.
What will you do?
- Define verification and validation activities for new control systems and functionality
- Translate system requirements into test cases, acceptance criteria and validation methods
- Develop simulations and models to evaluate system behaviour
- Verify control concepts before implementation on physical systems
- Set up and perform functional and performance tests on prototypes and test systems
- Compare simulated behaviour with measurements from physical systems
- Analyse system performance, stability, accuracy and dynamic behaviour
- Investigate deviations and identify root causes at system level
- Develop test setups, measurement methods and automated test solutions
- Work on different R&D projects and high-tech system architectures
- Collaborate with control, software, mechatronics and system engineers on design improvements
Your profile
- You hold a BSc or MSc in Systems & Control, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- You have experience with verification, validation or testing of control and mechatronic systems
- You have knowledge of control engineering, system dynamics and modelling
- You have experience with simulation and modelling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink
- You are comfortable combining simulations with experimental testing and measurements
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- You enjoy working on different systems and technical challenges within an R&D environment
- You are able to analyse multidisciplinary problems from a system-level perspective
