Quobly, a deep-tech company based in the Grenoble area, is developing a new generation of silicon-based quantum microprocessors. To support our ambition, we are expanding our quantum research and engineering team working on quantum error correction (QEC) for silicon-based spin-qubit platforms. The goal of this team is to develop, analyze, and implement QEC and fault-tolerant strategies tailored to realistic spin-qubit hardware.
Your tasks:
- Quantum error-correcting codes, including topological codes and low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes,
- Design and optimization of QEC schemes for silicon spin qubits,
- Logical gates, protocols, and architectures for fault-tolerant quantum computing,
- Resource-efficient scaling strategies and architectural trade-offs,
- Decoding algorithms and performance analysis of QEC codes,
- Experimental implementations of QEC and fault-tolerant protocols, in close collaboration with experimental teams.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with talented people, in a culture of transparency and autonomy.
- Work hand in hand with members of our technical teams.
- Play an active role in expanding and strengthening the team’s R&D efforts
- Collaborate with theory and experiment
Your profile:
- PhD in quantum information science, quantum physics, or a closely related field,
- Strong background in quantum error correction, fault tolerance, or quantum computing from a theoretical and/or experimental perspective,
- Excited about advancing practical fault-tolerant quantum systems and contributing to a collaborative, fast-moving team,
- Candidates with theoretical, numerical, experimental, or hybrid backgrounds are all encouraged to apply.
We are looking for candidates with diverse backgrounds and skill sets who can contribute to different aspects of this effort. Multiple research positions are available across experience levels, with complementary expertise.
Working at Quobly also means:
- A vibrant workplace in Grenoble, where advanced technology meets an inspiring mix of nature and culture,
- Opportunities to grow and develop your skills as part of a leading-edge, collaborative research team,
- A team culture based on trust and collaboration, where your contributions make a real impact,
- Flexible work options, including a 213-day work year, up to 4 days of remote work per week, offices near Grenoble train station, and support for commuting.
We believe great work comes from trust, collaboration, and pushing boundaries, in an environment where achievements are recognized and curiosity is encouraged.
For us, quality work is based on professionalism, trust, surpassing oneself and collaboration in an environment where fun and celebration is as essential as it is natural.
